I read quite a few blog posts during the course of a normal week, and this week wasn’t any different, but I don’t always comment on them, or even “like” them, so I thought I would dedicate my Top 5 this week to recognizing those posts that moved me, that made me laugh, or that made me think (and not necessarily in that order). So, here they are, and thank you to the authors of each one…
5. An Older Classic, Or Just Old? by smilecalm
I love this post because I feel the exact same way sometimes. Okay, a lot of the time. I mean, I enjoy having all the experiences and the, eh hem, wisdom that comes from it, but I really don’t like knowing that it took those years away from me, to gain that. And some days I just feel damn old. Thanks you for this wisdom you’ve imparted here, smilecalm. š
4. I Need Your Advice… by girlbehindthescissors
Yeah, I didn’t impart my excellent advice in a comment, but I do have some. It’s difficult to know how and when to cut someone off, especially when you know that person is needy, but if it’s detrimental to you (and this one obviously is), you have to definitely do something about it, no matter how hard it is to do so. Relationships are hard to maintain, but even harder to break off. More power to you, girlbehindthescissors.
3. When You Come Apart by WhatMattersMost
“You are still beautiful, even when you come apart.” This was just beautiful. Thank you for sharing that poignant moment.
2. Ten Things People Say I Think Are Ridiculous by hill + pen
This is one of the funniest things I’ve read in a long time, so thank you hill + pen! It’s so funny because I honestly have thought about every single one of the things on this list, and how ridiculous they are before, so seeing them articulated so perfectly just had me in stitches! I always enjoy your blog posts, but this one was beyond. I needed that today.
1. Keep Trying by Insanity
You know, I think stagnant focus is the biggest cause for problems in this world. We truly are doomed to repeat stupid and easily correctible things when we don’t focus on them and deal with them. Just keep trying. Just keep trying.
“I’m not scared. I felt like this on my way home.”
Sam
Thank you so much, Sam. This greatly blessed me.
You’re welcome!
